Welcome!

Lots of folks say that word "welcome" without thinking, but we really do mean it.

To truly make someone feel welcome, three things are required: anticipation, preparation and follow through.

First, we are trying to anticipate what we can do to make you feel comfortable and what will bring you into a worshipful mood when you visit FBC.

We have comfortable chairs, a friendly atmosphere and various snacks and drinks to offer you as our guests.

Next, we have prepared inspiring music that will touch your heart and a short, but useful sermon that will give you hope for the future and some encouragement and tips that you can apply right away.

Last, we promise to follow through by being here for you 24/7 - to stand beside you whenever any need arises. We want to be more than the people you "go to church" with, we want to be "the Church" as God intends it - a family of faith.

We have added the phrase "Missional Community of Faith" as a way to put into simple words what this really means to you.

Missional - we have a purpose, a "mission" - to share the love of Jesus and celebrate His love every day.

Community - we are intentionally inclusive and draw people in who want to be a part of what God is doing.

Faith - we stand not on what we have done or will do, but by faith in what Jesus Christ has already done for all who believe.

So, once again. WELCOME! Come by in person so we can tell you how much God loves you !

First Baptist Church Fun Facts

Fun FBC Fact # 1

To save on air-conditioning costs, we made a “temporary” move to Fellowship Hall for worship in 2003. We liked meeting on the ground floor around the round tables so much that we decided to stay.

Fun FBC Fact # 2

Although the 1st floor of the Education Building was heavily damaged by an explosion, fire and smoke in 1998, it has been repaired, updated and is now beautiful again!

FBC, Falfurrias was featured in a 2004 book, Shaped By God’s Heart, by Milfred Minatrea as a model of a Missional Church that was making positive changes to meet the needs of its community
